UPDATE: On May 3, 2023 I received information that this book had been challenged and that the library book reconsideration committee had voted unanimously voted to remove this book from Plano ISD school libraries because it is inappropriate. Parents will need to verify that the book is, indeed, not on library shelves and keep checking next school year.

UPDATE: I received information in mid-August of 2023 that this book is being pulled from PISD libraries. Parents should verify that this has been done.
