Is this book in your child's school district or in your child's school library? This is the story of a Christian teen whose mother can't show him she loves him and whose father is angry and abusive. In fact, we are told that both he and his mother "live in fear of his temper". His parents find out he is gay and decide to send him to a Christian correction camp to teach him not to be gay. The Bishop who runs the camp confesses to the main character that he is also gay. One of the campers tries to kill himself because the camp leaders are telling him it's a sin to be gay. Adam asks his mother if she loves Jesus or him more and she is silent with no answer. That tells Adam everything he needs to know.
Of course, an actual Christian would know that the question of who his mother loves more, Jesus or her son should have been easily answered by his Christian mother. She should have answered that of course she loves Jesus more. Jesus should be above everything else in our life, even above our families. Jesus teaches us how to love, so if we love him first as our Savior then we can love everyone else after that. But it starts with loving Jesus.
These authors are obviously trying to "teach" kids about Christians and Christianity which is portrayed in a misleading, wrong, or negative way. This is part of the indoctrination to separate Christian kids from their Christian parents so the Marxists can teach them their own agenda.
