These books are currently found in Denton ISD elementary school libraries. Remember that the librarian can read a book to children when they come into the library, and it is never checked out. Also, a teacher can check the book out to read to his or her class and loan the book to other teachers as well without them checking it out. Kids can also take the book off the shelf and look at it without checking it out. So, while the screenshots of these books in the libraries' own online catalogs show how many times the book has been checked out, that doesn't show how many kids may have been exposed to these books.
School libraries are constantly ordering books, so if a book is not in your school library then it just may not be there YET.
As you look at the scanned pictures, notice the pictures and what images kids are getting into their brains. Pictures and other visuals are very powerful and can stick in a child's mind forming thoughts and beliefs. What might stick in a child's mind from these books?
Here are books found in Denton ELEMENTARY school libraries that teach kids that they can change genders and pronouns, that police officers shoot children for no reason, that white people created racism, that kids can use the restroom for the opposite gender, that males can and should dress up as females and even be drag queens, that kids should be activists, what a "belly mommy" is, that no matter how hard they try minority children can't succeed because of systemic racism and the dominant culture, etc. and this is just SOME of them! Notice the visuals in the picture books. Kids can't "unsee" this stuff.
These are just SOME of the books in elementary schools that attempt to indoctrinate kids. For example, if you go to the Library Services Department page and search the whole district's elementary schools under "lesbian", this is what results:

If schools are putting these books about LGBTQ+ in the libraries for kids to read and check out and take home, can we really believe that teachers aren't discussing these things in class with kids? Of course they are! And, parents have no way of knowing which classes and which teachers are doing this unless the kids go home and say something. Parents should ask their children what is being discussed in class!
