Gay College Hockey Team in School Library Graphic Novel!

This graphic novel is about a gay college hockey team. Below is a list of some of the public school districts that have somehow seen fit to put this book in their school libraries for students to check out and read and how many school libraries have the book in each district according to their own online school library catalogs:

  • Keller ISD- 4 school libraries

  • Dallas ISD- 17 school libraries

  • Coppell ISD- 1 school library

  • Denton ISD- 3 school libraries

  • Irving ISD- 3 school libraries

  • Plano ISD- 6 school libraries

  • Richardson ISD- 4 school libraries

  • Anna ISD- 1 school library

  • Sherman ISD- 1 school library

I am sure this is not an exhaustive list. Notice that small school districts with only one high school have this book in their library. There is also a first book in this series which is found in these libraries as well.

From the title and the graphic illustrations on the cover, parents might assume this is a book about a winning hockey team. They might be surprised to find out what else is in the book:

The Marxists in education will tell you that these books are necessary for straight kids to be able to understand and empathize with homosexual kids. This is, of course, ridiculous. They don't need to be shown what gays do in the privacy of their own bedrooms in order to treat everyone with respect. The Marxists also say that gay kids need these books with characters they can identify with. Is this appropriate subject matter for high school kids who enter high school at fourteen or fifteen years of age? Notice how the mother in this book is very accepting of her son's lifestyle. The not-so-hidden message to kids is that if their parents do not accept it, then their parents just aren't cool or just don't understand them. The Marxists always want to break families apart. Then the Marxists can be the child's family and teach THEIR values.

Is this book or other books like it in your child's school library? Get informed and get involved!
