Mexican Whiteboy
This book, Mexican Whiteboy, is available for students to check out and read in many public school libraries including in Dallas ISD (middle and high school libraries), Coppell ISD (in English at the 9th grade campus and in Spanish at the high school campus), Denton ISD (middle and high school libraries), Richardson ISD, Sherman ISD, Wylie ISD, For Worth ISD (middle and high school libraries), Anna ISD, Grapevine-Colleyville ISD (middle and high school libraries), Plano ISD (middle and high school libraries) and others.
Below are scanned pages from the book. People are consistently identified throughout the novel by their race. The focus is constantly on the "shade" of skin. Why are they teaching young people to focus on race? Why is this book in so many middle and high school libraries? Why are they trying to divide kids into racial groups and get them to separate from each other? This book is racist, and we need to stop accepting this. We need to call it what it is. Racism.
Also, notice the subject matter and the foul language. This is completely inappropriate for kids, including middle school kids, to read!
