There are lots of books in Denton ISD school libraries about police brutality, racial profiling in law enforcement, etc. Some books do offer opposing viewpoints, but why do they want kids to read about this? Also, there are fiction books with police brutality as the theme in elementary schools as well as in middle and high schools. Why do schools want kids as young as elementary school age to hate/fear/mistrust the police? What is their agenda here? Is this part of defunding the police? Do police officers in Denton know that these books are in elementary, middle, and high schools? How would they feel if they knew?
You will see screenshots showing the books and their locations in Denton ISD school libraries according to their own online library catalog and how many times these books have been checked out. Some books are recent additions to the libraries and, thus, have not been checked out very many times YET.
