This book is at McMath Middle School and has been checked out 18 times. Please remember that kids can read the book in the library if they don't want to check it out!! Also, the kids who did check it out probably shared it with their friends, so more than 18 kids have probably seen this book. In Texas, parents must give consent for sex education. School libraries say that the law only applies to school curriculum and not library books specifically so they can present kids with sex education books in the library without a parent's knowledge or consent. They have found a loophole to be able to make these books available to kids without facing legal challenges.
