Transgender/"Gender Non-Conforming" Elementary Picture Books in Irving ISD School Libraries

These books teach kids the vocabulary and normalize these things. For younger children, it always starts with boys wearing dresses, boys wanting to be princesses and mermaids, etc. When looking at the number of times a book has been checked out, we have no way of knowing how many teachers checked out these books to read to their classes (and expose the content of the book to many more kids) and have a discussion afterwards.
